Admission Criteria
Admission Criteria
We offer nursery places for children from 3 months to 5 years at The Wendy House. Places are offered, based on the availability of sessions/days that have been requested and timeframe requirements. We are committed to offering places on an equal opportunities basis and endeavour to facilitate the needs of every application.
Demand for nursery places in the area remains consistently high which can sometimes result in a lengthy wait for a suitable place. Our waiting list is reviewed regularly, with courtesy calls to parents, updating them on waiting times and options on places, as they become available. Likewise, we do appreciate it if parents on our waiting list, advise us if they no longer require a nursery place for their child.
All Enrolment Forms received are treated on an equal basis, although preference is given to children who already have a sibling attending the nursery.
If you would like to apply for a nursery place, please contact us by completing the form on our contact page.
PLEASE NOTE THAT COMPLETION AND RETURN OF AN ENROLMENT FORM IS NOT A GUARANTEE OF A NURSERY PLACE
On receiving your completed Registration Form, our Nursery Manager will contact you, either by telephone or email, to discuss your requirements and advise you if a suitable place is available.
Accepting a place must be done within two weeks and this is secured by way of a £350.00 deposit (includes £250 to cover settling in sessions, registration costs, and sign-up to the family app, and £100 to reservice your child’s place which will be offset against you first month’s nursery fees).
Please note – Before accepting a nursery place, it is important that all parents have read and agreed to our Terms and Conditions and authorised Permissions which form part of The Registration Form. For funded applications, the Havering ‘New Child Registration and Parental Declaration Form must also be completed. We are readily available to assist and answer any questions that parents may have at this stage of the enrolment process.
On receipt of this completed documentation and deposit, written confirmation of your accepted place will be sent to you. Nearer to your child’s proposed start date we will contact you again to assign a key person who will work with you to arrange settling in sessions and provide help and support with this.
Please check our ‘Settling-In and Transitions’ Page for further information
ATTENDANCE CRITERIA
On taking up your nursery place, we will expect to see your child on their agreed sessions. To assist us in planning, we do ask that you notify us in advance of any intended holiday absence. Likewise, if you need to make or request any changes to the scheduled sessions, we will be happy to work with you to accommodate these changes if possible.
We understand that sickness absence is unavoidable. A courtesy call to the nursery if your child is not well, is greatly appreciated and ‘puts our mind at rest’ that all is OK
NOTICE CRITERIA
If you wish to remove your child from our nursery, or reduce their number of days/sessions, we ask that you give us one month’s notice. This must be given in writing and sent to the Nursery Manager. Where notice has been given that your child will be leaving, your nursery fee note will be calculated accordingly, stating your child’s final day/session with us.
